I love my job! I recognize and appreciate what a gift that is to be able to say. It's a privilege to be able to walk alongside others as they journey through life's ups and downs. It is not one I take lightly.
I truly believe that when we feel safe enough to be ourselves without judgement anything is possible. As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe space for everyone to feel heard, valued and understood. I offer an environment that allows all people to explore their own personal strengths, beliefs, values and goals and I find this information can provide an anchor for all of us. When we know what matters most to us, we begin to have direction.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional in the state of Illinois. I worked as a school social worker for six years and absolutely loved that job as well. I enjoy working with children (6+), adolescents and adults of all ages. Some areas of expertise include: anxiety, Trauma/PTSD, ADHD, Divorce/Grief and Loss, Parenting (including Special Needs and Adoption Parenting), Adjustment to Life Changes, Women's Issues, Emotional Regulation difficulties (children and adolescents), Conduct/Behavioral concerns (children and adolescents). I rely heavily on motivational interviewing, mind and body connection and commit to a strengths-based, client-centered practice. I utilize various clinical practices , including but not limited to:
Brainspotting
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Trauma Focused-CBT
